Default XP<->XP network logon wont' work, keeps coming up with computername\username

I'm working with two PCs and what used to work does not anymore. When I try to logon to this specific PC from my PC the netowork logon comes up fine and I enter my info. Then it comes up again but shows computername\username and asks for the password again. It won't let me in. I can logon to other PCs, and other PCs can logon to this other PC. It's only between mine and this other one. I've tried changing it's IP, hostname, making new users, I've even used the sysinternal's newsid utility on the other PC (it's actually XP embedded) to no avail. I've tried clearing the netbios and arp caches on my pc. I made sure the logon type of my pc was set to classic and not the guest only thing. I've tried booting my PC in safe mode w/ networking. I've probably spent about 10 hours trying different things. Any thoughts? Anyone? Please!?!?!

Thanks.

Yes, I do... I've actually tried creating one like on the device on my machine and vice versa. So I've actually tried that several times wich different info.
Even past that, the other things I can logon to are also XP embedded with all the same user info.
