I have a small home network, including a desktop and laptop. Both are
running XP Home in a workgroup. Copying files and sharing printers works
fine -- most of the time.
I have the need to copy large numbers of files between my laptop and
desktop -- JPG files in the 3MB range, sometimes as many as 2,000 files at
one time. Mostly this works fine, however, lately I've been getting an
error: "Error Copying File or Folder" I am copying from the laptop to the
Shared Docs folder on the desktop.
Is there any setting I can change to avoid getting this error message and
having my file copy halted?
Re: XP to XP network "Error Copying File or Folder"
Forgot to add... the error continues: "Cannot copy <filename>: The specified
network name is not available." This happens after several hundred files
are successfully copied.
Re: XP to XP network "Error Copying File or Folder"
Can't someone help me with this problem? Please.
