Default XP Pro ICS Not Working Properly =(

Out of nowhere my kids PC stopped working on the network to my PC(gateway to
Internet)
Using crossover cables with NIC cards.
My firewall (ZoneAlarm Free) is set to Medium for internet usage in both
zones.
I am not sure what I should be using in the network properties box.
It says the following:

Under advanced ICS it says allow other computers to access the internet
connection?
Select a private network connection - should I use - "Local Area Connection"
or "Kids Computer"?
I have tried both settings to no avail.
Am I missing something??????
Help greatly appreciated.

Thanks Much,

Jack Barrett

Since Zonealarm is not a Microsoft product, you might try going to the
Zonealarm web site and ask this question in one of their forums. And you
should provide much more information about the configuration of the
machines. HOWEVER:

Turn off the firewall on the Trusted Zone.

Set the firewall to High on the Internet Zone.

In the Firewall section of Zonealarm, click the Advanced button and tell it
that the computer is an ICS/NAT Gateway using the IP address for the LAN's
network card (which is probably 192.168.0.1, the default which is assigned
by ICS).

In Windows XP's Network Connections, you'll enable sharing on the device
that connects to the internet (modem or NIC? How do you connect? Details
please). The NIC for the LAN will automatically be assigned the IP address
192.168.0.1. Then you'll have to make sure that DHCP is enabled on the NICs
on the client machines. (Perhaps it already is... you didn't say.)

I'm confused about your setup. What do you mean when you say:

"Select a private network connection - should I use - 'Local Area
Connection' or 'Kids Computer'?"

Which computer are you on? How many NICs do you have? Are you talking about
Windows XP's Network Connections or ZoneAlarm?
