Default XP Home-Pro cant keep a connection for more than 2 minutes..

Hi

I have 2 PCs (XP Home an Pro). Ive setup a local LAN where Pro is Hosting directly connected to XP Home PC.

it doesnt matter what I configure, ALWAYS connection between 2 computers drop after aproximately 2-3 minutes.

It doesnt matter If im connected to internet or not, so is not viruses or worms problems.

If i deactivate each connection, and then re-activate againt, it will work again very good, but 2 minutes more and BUMM...down again..

any idea?

Charlie,

please have a look at http://www.michna.com/kb/WxNetwork.htm.

Check particularly the IEEE 802.1X authentication, which you
most likely want disabled.

Thanks for the Reply !!!

It worked fine for the LAN-WIRE Connection, I've unchecked the protocol easily. But for the wireless connection your site says: "for wireless adapters there is no longer an Authentication tab. Instead right-click on the connection's icon (either from system tray or from connections folder), select "View available networks", uncheck the "Enable IEEE 802.1x ..." checkbox and click Connect"

I went to View Availabe Networks and I just see 3 available connections (Wire Normal LAN, Wireless Connection and one connecton called 1394)

I have Win XP Pro...thanks for the help again

Charlie,

try right-clicking on the Wireless Connection, then "View
available networks" and so on.

Currently have no computer with wireless adapter nearby, so I
cannot test this right now.
