Default XP can't see network

XP is connected to W2k and Win98 w/ router. W2k can access XP but can't see
connect to w2k. XP pings w2k w/ no problems

what am I missing

mcafee security sees all machines and access granted
xp firewall disabled
Dell laptop w/xp pro
my network places is empty
view workgroup computers gives error 'Home not accessable you might not
have permission....The network path was not found'
netbios enabled over tcp/ip
can ping w2k by name or address

On the w2k, run this command: net share. On the XP, run this command: net
view \\w2kipaddress. Do you get the same result? If not, post back with the
system error.
