XP can ping IP's not URL's, can't browse, can network

I have a puzzle and am hoping somebody can help me out
with some insight. If so, i want to thank you very much!

XP Pro, SP 1

Symptoms:
Can't...
Browse or poll email from Internet,
PING URL's ("...could not find host..."
NSLOOKUP (can't resolve ISP's DNS server names)
(can't find ISP's DNS server IP's)
Can...
Be a working peer in local net (behind firewall)
PING IP's (anywhere!)

Already tried...
Resetting TCP/IP with: netsh in ip reset <logfile>

Note...
Other machines geting thru firewall fine. Have tried
this machine on another network and it has the same
problems.

Interesting...
IPCONFIG /ALL: Mode is "Hybrid", not "Broadcast"
