Trying to set up a network between XP pro connected via
ethernet to NTL broadband & win98 computer through belkin
router and usb wirless adapter. I can ping both machines
and they see each other but cannot see shared files on
either computer. If network wizard is used i can see the
files but then lose internet connection on the main
computer but not the 2nd! Driving me crazy after spending
2 hours talking to Belkin they can't help, can anybody
out there????

Tell the Network Wizard that the computers connect to the Internet
through a residential gateway (router). Other connection options
block file and printer sharing.

I have done the network wizard as you said choosing the
residential gateway option but the result is I can share
files but loose the internet on this main computer.

I have had similar problems using a router and
repeater...the repeater sends a strong signal but can't
connect to the internet. The router company said it's a
windows problem with the wireless network
connection...but it seems to me that someone should have
a solution in this increasingly connected world.

The daft thing is the client computer using the usb
wireless link can access the internet no problems, it's
only the host computer that loses it if the network is
working so I have to either have a network or no internet
on my main computer! MAD!!
