Trying to install Netgear 802.11g card into laptop.
after software installation and hardware wizard, Code 10
appears as error msg (Cannot start this Hardware -- Tere
was a problem installing this hardware). I called
Netgear only for them to tell me it may be a IRQ conflict
and they can't help me. Any suggestions? THANKS IN
ADVANCE
Please check the event log for any messages from the netcard driver
(event source name probably begins with WG.... )
Does it refer to IRQ, or other problem?
What are resources used by the card (in device manager) ?
Is the IRQ shared with other devices?

In Device Manager/Resources, "there are no resources
being used because it has a problem". That's the message
being displayed. Where do i check the event log?
Administrative Tools, Event Viewer? If so, I went there,
but don't know what to look for. When I
doubleclick "Applications", there is only item with with
a red-x error message, and under "System", there are
sources with the red-x whose sources are "acpi", but
there is nothing that starts with WG. Any ideas? THANKS
IN ADVANCE!

Ok...

Yes, it is under "System" - sorry, I forgot to mention.

Then please ask Netgear support what is the event source name - should be same as the netcard driver name.
Code 10 means that the driver failed while starting up the device.
In such case driver usually leaves a message in the eventlog.
YOU ROCK! I downloaded an older driver version and
received no error msg. Was able to install card w/o
problems. I also couldn't resist it, but I phoned
Netgear support (which is based in India) just to let
them know that they were misinforming me and it wasn't an
IRQ problem. THANKS AGAIN DUDE!
