I have lost the ability to connect to my wireless system
with my laptop.
OS - Windows XP Pro
1. When I first received my laptop with an Intel chip w/
built in WIFI, XP detected and automatically configured
the computer to my wireless system. All I had to do was
enter the 10 digit Network Key.
2. The system no longer works. I receive a signal but
cannot go online. When I open the properties dialog box
of my network, I find that the Network Key now only
contains 8 digits. Even after changing the Key again to
the 10 digit number, it reverts to 8 digits.
3. Removal of the WEP Data Encryption on both the
notebook and the wireless system, still results in no
connection.
4. One thing I did do was run the home or small office
network setup wizard, while attempting to get a remote
WIFI connection.
5. Under the "Network Bridge" section of "Network
Connections" I show Wireless Network Conection Enabled,
Bridged. Network Bridge Enabled. 1394 Connection
Enabled, Bridged.
If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please let me
know. Or at least I would like to know how to return the
entire network system to the orginal settings when the
notebook arrived and start from there.
