Default wireless network adapter driver problem

When I try to install drivers for a Linksys WUSB11
adapter, I get this message:
"Cannot install this hardware. The name is already in use
as either a service name or a service display name."
This network worked fine until I installed a new hard
drive and operating system (XP). Linksys support
couldn't help saying that it is a XP problem. I tried
using new drivers from the Linksys site but that did not
help either.
