Wireless to LAN filesharing

Recently I added a wireless router to my setup to ease
the use of my laptop, however ever since I added the
router I am not able to share files with the laptop to
the desktops. The filesharing works fine if I connect
the network cable to the laptop (into the hub), but not
wirelessly. My current setup is a follows...

A cable modem connected to the hub
2 desktops connected to the hub
1 laptop wirelessly connected to the router which is
plugged into the hub

Is it possible to share files on the LAN via the router
to the laptop in this manner?

Did you turn on the firewall on the wireless connection? If so you'll
probably have to disable it in order to share files from the laptop to the
desktop.

They were on different subnets but I configured the
router to be on the same subnet, but still no go.

The router does have a built in 4 port switch, however,
my reason for setting things up the way they are is to
allow the 2 desktop machines to take advantage of the
full up/download limits imposed by the ISP. Our current
plan includes 3 IPs. So, the desktops would have 2 of
them and then the router which has the laptop on the
wireless and XBox in one of the ports on the switch can
share the third.

I have looked into if the router is able to bypass two of
its ports and operate them like a hub but that doesn't
seem to be an option.

where are the desktops getting their ip?
looks like your laptop is on a different subnet.
because most routers have a built in dhcp server which is probably assigning
an ip to the laptop.
if your router has a built in switch then connect the routers uplink port
directly to the cable modem and the desktops to the switch.

your router is on the same network as the desktops, but not the laptop.
im not a 100% sure but i dont think machines on different subnets can be in
the same workgroup. so your laptop will not be able to see or access the
desktops.
u should be able to ping the other machines if u setup a static route on the
router(some routers dont support this)

once u setup a static route then open a dos prompt and type net share
//computer ip/share name.
see if that works.
u can also use ftp or someother file transfer method to transfer files.
