Windows XP PRO Problem

My internet property connect settings change every time I
reboot. Both the internet connection settings tab and
LAN settings tab changes to select the use of a "proxy
server" for the connection. I can deselect and reboot and
the settings change back to select the use of the proxy
server.

I have removed McAfee firewall and that seemed to help
some of my problems, but didn't fix the problem
referenced.
