Default Window XP For Japanese Cannot Open Window 2000 File

I have 2 pcs. One is a desktop with Window 2000 as the
server while the other is a laptop with Window XP
Professional For Japanese.

Everything is fine except for the below problems.

01) Whenever the XP machine wants to open the files in
the WIN2K machines, the XP machine keep hanging without
any response.

02) I tried to configure a TCP/IP printer that is over
the LAN in the XP machine with the latest printer driver.
It is ok. But when I tried to do a test print, nothing
comes out.

Please help.
