Default WiFi configuration XP Home Edition

I am having trouble setting up WiFi on my laptop....
I already have it configured for Bluetooth, modem dialup
as well as connected to my work wired network.
I am actually trying to connect (via wi-fi) to my pda
which has wi-fi compact flash installed.

I manage to install the software and driver but when i reboot
my laptop it says unable to start tcp/ip transport. My connection
to my wired works network then stops working.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Is it that wifi is not
compatible when i have a wired network connection?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

Paul
