There are a couple of computers on my network that I'd like to assign a
static ip. One is a local webserver for projects, and another has
restrictions from our router so it can't use the internet. Therefore, when
the ip's change, I have to change the shortcut properties to the webserver
on all comps, and log into the router and make sure that it is still
blocking services on that other computer.
192.168.0.6
255.255.255.0
In the properties of tcp/ip what do I put for the default gateway...would
that be our router?
192.168.0.1?

Robert,
The router should be the default gateway, yes.
And Robert, please don't contribute to the spread and success of email address
mining viruses. Learn to munge your email address properly, to keep yourself a
bit safer when posting to open forums. Protect yourself and the rest of the
internet - never post your address unmunged. http://www.mailmsg.com/SPAM_munging.htm

Robert,
From the one computer that you tried, and from one computer that works properly,
provide ipconfig information.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.
Identify operating system (by name and version) with each ipconfig listing.
