Default VPN disconnects

My VPN connection disconnect about 45 seconds after it connects. This only happens about 95% of the time. some times it stays on for long periods of time, but not usually. I have checked everything on the server end and it looks good. Is there a log that I can look at to see if my workstation VPN is dropping or if my server is terminating the connection. Any suggestions of how to fix the problem?

Have IT person in your organisation (or VPN provider) investigated? Why they could not fix it?
Please don't tamper with your VPN settings without letting them know - you can get in a serious trouble.

I am the IT person. But thanks anyway. I installed the VPN, it worked great for awhile. but a few things have changed in the last month and with it my VPN connectoin has become intermittent at best. I have installed some very good security measures on my router at the server end, but all the logs check out ok. Nothing points to why my VPN connections get dropped. I am really looking for a log on the workstation end that can tell me details of why my VPN is being dropped or a possible solution to try to see if I get some noticeable improvement.

Oops sorry! then I'm completely confused..
Why you won't call the vendor of your VPN and request troubleshooting directions?
