Upgraded to XP Pro from XP Home and now wireless won't work

This happened on both the laptop and desktop I upgraded.
Before wireless adapter worked fine. Now wireless doesn't
work and when I go to viea wvailable wireless networks
everything is grayed out except the cancel button.
However it states that the wireless adapter itself is
functioning properly.
Any ideas?
