Re: unknown programs trying to connect to the internet when i start wi
Greetings.
You may want to note what programs are starting up in the background when
your pc boots. Look in your startup folder and note any program that may be
unfamiliar to you and delete it out of there. Go to start->run and type
msconfig and press ok. Click on the startup tab. Uncheck everything
(except the antivirus software and software you deem as important) and click
OK. Reboot your pc. If this clears up the problem, go back into msconfig
and re-check one item at a time and reboot. Eventually you'll find the
culprit.

Just out of curiosity, goto a command prompt(start-->run
and type cmd) and type hostname and press enter. What
name does it return?
