I have recently started getting an error message from one user's computer. This user swears that they did nothing to cause this error.
When I try to use Computer Management it allows me to see this user's computer but I am not able to use anything. If I wast to use Services it give me an error of: "Unable to open Service Control Manager Database on (Username). Error 5: Access is Denied."
I have searched Microsoft's Knowledgebase and there is nothing that I have found for this exace error.
The account you use to logon to your computer must be a member of the local
Administrators group on the remote machine. In a domain environment, the
domain admins group is/should be automatically added to the local
administrators group when a workstation joins a domain. If the user logs
onto his local machine instead of the domain, the domain admins group will
not be able to remotely manage the machine.
