Default Unable to get one of my computers to access internet

I can't seem to get my desktop to access the net. Network adapters and drivers seem okay. Cables and hubs okay too since I can ping the other computer's adapters... though I'm unable to network. Any suggestions? Is this a hardware or software problem? Need some help.

I had the same problem after installing the MS sasser
fixes.

After some trial and error I unplugged and replugged both
my WLAN adapter and my built-in network adapter. XP
recognized than new hardware and reinstalled the drivers
for both.

Than the network connection worked fine.
