print cartridge light continues to blink after all efforts to reso

have hp deskjet 810c that we have been using for a long time. while printing
off web site yesterday, printer just stopped. turned power off, waited a
while & turned power back on. cartridge light began blinking and nothing we
did could not fix it. have been using a much refilled black cartridge for
some time.

Not sure about your printer but other printers have cartridges that
have a IC chip on each with a "expiry" date.
