Default Possible active X issue

I am working on a Dell Dimension 2100 running WinXP home
edition (up to SP 2 installed) 1.1 gh celeron and 128 mb
ram.

Every time I try to run updates from the windows update
site I click on the "install now" link after selecting
updates, nothing happens.
It doesn't even bring up any windows or prompts, just
sits there.
Also I cannot print from Internet Explorer or Outlook
Express, have tried to uninstall the printer and
reinstall it all to no avail, I can print from all other
programs though.

I have tried downloading and running the
update "Q814033 " from ms web site, and this has not
fixed the issue either.

I have also ran Adaware, cwshredder, and hijackthis.
Also no viruses have been found after several scans with
norton.

I was thinkin it might be some type of active X issue
with this system. Any Ideas???

Thanks in advance

Dwight
