Default Networking Two Computers Together

hi im trying to network two computers together
i have a network cable running from my desktop comp to my
laptop and there both running winxp
ive already tried network setup wizard but it seems
like it doesnt work
i want to be able to send files back and forth
plz help

Suggestions:
1. confirm that you are using a "cross over" network cable.
2. re-read the articles in "help" about networking for troubleshooting
advice.

Run the Direct Cable Connection wizard.
