Default network failure after SP1a install

Have a LAN installed that was working fine after a clean
reinstall of XP. Updated the system using SP1a and can't
get the network working again. Ping times out etc. IP
addresses have been set corrently between the machines and
workgroup is set correctly. I'm stumped. Thanks for any
suggestions.

Default network failure after SP1a install

I have the same problem. Mine is a Linksys LNET110x LAN
card. It does not set correctly on boot. It does work
if you uninstall and reinstall the card using the New
Hardware Wizard, and/or if you update the drivers, but on
the next reboot it fails again. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled TCP/IP with no luck. I am stumped!
