I have a system which queries the netbios username of a remote PC.
Unfortunately, during testing of a new XP build, the username is no longer
being displayed with a 'nbtstat -n'.
The Windows firewall is disabled. The 'Messenger' service has been
restarted. Netbios over TCP is enabled. The PC belongs to a workgroup (user
authentication is against eDirectory). This has me completely stumped!

The messenger service must be running on all systems you are querying,
not just your own.
