Default My Computer is not recognized by the network/server

I just had a new hard drive installed on my computer.
How do I go about getting the server to recognize and allow my computer on the network? I also cannot access the server from my computer.
It was mentioned that I may need to re-map the hard drive. (?)
For example: I need a specific template from billing. She was able to copy to shared documents on the server, but, 'shared documents' on my computer is not present.

Thanks!
