I recently had to have my computer's power source and motherboard replaced, and my hard drive was wiped clean. I replaced all the programs I wanted, and the computer has been running fine for about a week.
HOWEVER, i've recently started recieving an error message WHENEVER I dial up. I use SBCYahoo dial-up, and it has never before affected my computer like this. The error message that pops up is that there is a conflict with NT Authority/System. The computer THEN takes 60 seconds to shut down, and the process starts whenever I try to sign on again. It seems to have something to do with the Isass. function that runs automatically with windows, so I CAN'T turn that off, however 99 times out of 100 the computer restarts and I absolutely can't stop it from doing so. I've sent a ton of logs to microsoft, but of course they're no help, and i'm very desperate.
This is the first time i've been able to stay online for more than 5 minutes without crashing, and my first time using the board, so any advice as to what to check/delete/fix would be most appreciated. I've tried about 15 different restore points but they don't work for more than one time, and then the computer crashes. Again, I really really need help, because I live on this computer...

>Patrick - I'm having a very similar problem but I use
MSN as my ISP. Read my posting a few down from yours if
you can before getting cut off. Like you I've researched
it. I'm lucky enough to have 2 computers with almost the
exact set up. I'm studying computer networking at the
local JC so HOPEFULLY I can find a fix. If you find one
before me please email me back. Thanks - Ray
