Default Monitoring Lan

Whats the best way to monitor my LAN? I have 3 PCs
running XP pro. The other two access my files and drives.
How can I know who accessed files and what files they
accessed throughout the day? Thankx in advance

Robert I appreciate your assistance. The only problem I
have with "Computer Management" is not being able to
check who logged in when I wasn't here. It only shows me
real-time not historical. I haven't tried nmap, im about
to try that now.....lets see.....thankx
