Default Modem

I have just installed a Dial up connection for internet
at my cottage. I got online for a brief period and an
error 692 keeps coming up. also something to do with my
modem not initialized for windows xp. It is a Robatics
56K modem and I am totally frustrated as I do most of my
work there.
