I am using Windows XP professional and I have mapped a server drive. When I use certain programs (like Borland Database Desktop) the program crash and the mapped drive disappears from the tree in Windows Explorer. If I type in the drive path in the address bar (eg. ‘L:\’) the drive reappears in the tree but with no text. For example normally it would say “smn$ on ‘serverXXX’ (L” but after the program has crashed the text is missing.
Also when the program crash, all other programs that has connections to the mapped drive losses their connection to the server.
Can anybody help me with what is wrong? I would think that a mapped drive shouldn’t disappear/get disconnected just because a program crash. Furthermore I think that the reason that the program crash in the first place is because the connection to the server dropps.
