Default Lost Offline data store

My documents folder is pointing to a folder on a Windows
2000 server. Folder and subfolders are marked "Make
available offline". Offline updates and sync have worked
properly with 2 exceptions. First exception occurred
about a year ago when laptop was offline and all files in
the offline folder disappeared. Folder was restored with
mobsync. Files updated since last sync we lost. Now the
same problem has occured again. Is there any way to
restore the offline pointers so that I will not loose my
offline updates? How do I prevent this from happening
again? I'm using Windows XP SP1 on the laptop.

OT, but my advice is to steer clear of offline files - I much prefer a third
party app called SecondCopy 2000 (www.centered.com) - it's cheap, and they
have a free eval for download. It's part of my standard laptop build for all
my clients nowadays. I've had far too many problems with offline files....
