I normally log onto my computer using my school's domain. Now that I am home for the summer I want to set up a home network (we recently got wireless). Yet I can't run the home networking setup because I am logged onto my computer using my school's domain name. How do I set up my own domain so I don't have to log on using the school's name?
Thanks
Tristan Kessler
Change from to domain logon to workgroup
From Control Panel select Computer Management
Select Local Users and Groups--Users
Right click in the right hand pane a create a new user and password
Now add that user to the administrators group
Then and only then
From Control Panel select System
On the Computername Tab select Change
Select workgroup, type in a workgroup name, it doesn't really matter what it
is.
Reboot and logon with the new username password
Note you will have a new profile, not your old one.
