Default limited user accounts can't get on the internet

Hi,
I have xp pro. I have 3 local user accounts. 2 admin 1 limited. The limited
user can only get on the internet if an admin logs in first then switches
users. The admin accounts can get on the internet anytime. Is there a way to
have the limited user be able to bootup and log into the limited account and
get on the internet?
Thanks,
John

Hi John,

You didn't say what sort of connection you're using, but take a look at the
dialog box that comes up when one of your admin users attempts to connect. If
there's a pair of radio buttons with a choice between "Me only" and "Anyone
who uses this computer", make sure the "Anyone..." button is selected. Hope
this helps. If you don't see that dialog box, please post info on the type of
connection you're using.
Cheers,

traumajohn,
While signed in on the limited acct. Try the following:
1. Right click IE shortcut on desktop.
2. Select RUN As.
3. Select Use this acct to run this program.
4. Place Administrator Name and password in the appropriate box.
5. Log off Limited acct, then Log back on the Limited acct, and check if
browser now works.

Default RE: limited user accounts can't get on the internet

Hi,
Sorry for the incomplete post. I am connecting via LAN hard cabled to a
2wire dsl modem. Basic ethernet connection. When I connect to the internet I
don't get a pop up box. When the limited user tries to connect without an
admin previosly logging in no box pops up only the IE window opens and says
page can not be displayed. When I log off limited acct. and log into admin
acct. I get no errors and just directly onto the net. I will give the
suggestion in the response from Rich a try and see if that works.
