My XP pro now has Autoconfiguration IP 169.254.233.135.
Normally it says IP configuration with the IP that my
router issues it. I cannot access the internet or release
this autoconfig? HELP!

John,
This simply says that you are not getting an address from the autoconfiguration
(DHCP) server. Since your internet gateway is NOT on subnet 169.254.0.0/16, you
are not going to get service.

Please describe your network in some detail, and we'll try to help you figure
where the problem might be.

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
John, I ran into something like this with one of my customers. They had there DHCP router set to only allow 6 IP address. Check this out and if the setting is low bump it up to something like 50 users and reboot your computer.
