Default Internet Sharing

I have access to the internet on a PC with XP Home. The other PC on the network uses 98(SE). File and Printer sharing work on both computers but I cannot access the Internet on the client. In the "Help and Support" section it suggests going to Network Connections, network Tasks, Change settings and then to click on the Advanced tab. I only get a general tab so do not get the check box which allows me to share the connection.
(The network was working perfectly OK but I had to have the motherboard replaced and the hard disc was reformatted in the process so everything had to be set up again from scratch.)
I believe that i have done the set up correctly as I used the wizard. Can anyone suggest what might be the problem please?

Some ISPs, such as AOL, don't allow access to the Advanced tab on
their network connections.

A network connection that's part of a network bridge doesn't have an
Advanced tab. If there's a network bridge, right-click and delete the
bridge.

Default RE: Internet Sharing

Unfortunately, deleting the bridge did not help - in fact I lost my Internet connection as a result and had to reinstall it. Thanks for trying to help.
