Default Internet Gateway ??

I have a new connection in my network connections
folder, "Internet Gateway" why is it there and how do i
get rid of it???

The Internet Gateway Device Discovery and Control Client Is an Optional
Networking Component in Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1a (SP1a)
