Default Internet Connection Sharing

How do can I find out if a machine is configured for ICS? Is it simply
checking to see if the check box is selected or can the box be blank
even if the machine is using ICS? I've tried to set it up before to
share a dialup connection, but now the box is blank. There should
only be one machine with ICS enabled, right? I'll have to change the
IP address of my router, correct?
Thanks for any help.

Dave

Hi,

You can check the followinf article on Microsoft's
website:
http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=306126

This article describes everything about configuring ICS
on Windows XP.

You can also note a few important points about ICS:
(1) ICS should be enabled on the main computer only which
is connected directly to he internet.
(2) ICS can be simply enabled by putting a check in the
checkbox for ICS in the Advanced Tab of the DialUp
connection you have in the Network Connections Folder.
(3) Remmember, most people do this mistake. You should
share the connection which you use to connect to the
internet. So that would be your DialUp internet
connection appearing in the Network Connections Folder.

BEST OF LUCK!
