Default Internet Connection Problem with Windows XP Pro

Hi there,

I just bought an IBM ThinkCentreS50 desktop PC with
Windows XP Professional. When it is connected to our LAN
(complete w/ IP address, GW and DNS, domain name) it
cannot connect to the Internet. Everytime I browsed a
page, I notice an IP address shown at the bottomleft of
IE instead of the usual website location/name.

But when I connected this PC to our aDSL and set the IP
address, GW & DNS to auto DHCP, it can connect to the
Net. The strange thing is, our other PCs are setup just
the way I initially setup this Win XP Pro PC so I don't
know if XP Pro is somehow blocking the connection to the
net.

Please help!

Thanks.
Odjie
