I was connecting to the internet through a hub hooked to a cable modem. I
don't know what changed but I can no longer connect.
The other computers going through the hub have internet connectivity
The lights on my nic, and on any port on the hub I plug into, are all green
I can't Ping or Tracert (host not found)
Double-clicking my connection shows bytes sent but not received
I tried the 'Repair' button and got the message "An operation was attempted
on something that is not a socket"

Marcie,
You have a corrupted Winsock.

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
Thanks Chuck. For both the computer fix AND the advice on my newsgroup
email address. Makes good sense.
