I recently ran the windows update for my laptops. Since
the update several things are messed up. The system resore
function will not go back any further than the current
month and even when I take it back to the earliest date
for the month, nothing changes.
Internet Explorer no longer works. I can log onto AOL and
am able to use the links provided by aol, however when I
try to use my favorites or bookmarks IE page starts then
give this message on the page real quick: IE cannot find
the server, then quickly goes to another page and says
this: No page to diaplay? This message comes up on
everything I do.
I have done the F8- restore to last know good
configuration and still does not work.
Is there anyway I can uninstall the updates and bring it
back to before? Or any ideas would be great.
By the way: I have 4 computers, 2 that I loaded the
windows updates on and 2 that I did not. Both with the
updates are messed up beyond even logging onto internet or
isp. I will probably never do another windows update.
Updates can be removed from Add/remove programs in Control Panel. Can you
ping interent ips or DNS names like "ping www.google.com"? Try repair IE in
add/remove programs.
