Default Help - Generic host process needs to close

Using Win XP Home Edition SP1.
Every time I go online via ADSL broadband I get at least one "Generic Host
Process .........and needs to close". The Event log has nothing in the App
or the module entries. The error occurs usually during the first five
minutes of online time.
I have found that the controlling Windows process allows me about 30 secs to
write my last will and testament before pulling out the rug. Also found
(reboots were hugely annoying) that if I can log-off and close just AOL
BEFORE about 30 secs, and then click the "Don't Send" option on the warning
window, all I have to do to recover is restart AOL thus avoiding a cold
restart.
As for what changed, well AOL changed the broadband setup to something
called "DialBB" (and told us they were doing it) but their help service
doesn't seem to know what's going on my end.

Anyone seen this please or got any clues?
