Default guest cannot connect to host computer

I am running WinXP Pro on my desktop and my laptop
I have set up a wireless connection using lynksys
The desktop sees the laptop just fine, but the laptop cannot see the
desktop, preventing me from sharing the printer on the desktop.
The laptop does, however, successfully connect to the internet thru this
wireless connection.
I am thinking that there is some setting on the host (desktop) computer
that is blocking the laptop from seeing it.
I have read thru this newsgroup, and while I am a real newbie, I am
beginning to wonder if it has something to do with the Firewall in
WinXP.

This conncection was working fine until someone re-formatted and
re-loaded the desktop - now for some reason unknown to me, the
connection fails.

Any light on this problem that you can shed for me sure would be
appreciated.

This networking stuff seems pretty complicated to this newbie. Yikes!!
But I am willing to learn so look forward to any advice you have for me.

Thank you
Joanne

You may want to create the same username on both computers. Or this
troubleshooting may help.

Access issues"computername is not accessible. No permission to access the
resources" ... Message: "....is not accessible. You may not have permission
to use this network ...
