Default Generic Host Process for Win32 services has encountered a problem.

Generic Host Process for Win32 services has encountered a problem. App
name:svchost. Mod name:netcfgx

After upgrade From XP Professional to sp2
I did an upgrade to SP2 from the MS website. It crashed with "invalid
Destination" on an object and the installation failed. The backout also
failed.

I freed up a lot of disk and re did the SP2 upgrade. The installation
completed but the windows update history still indicates the upgrade was
incompete

Can I go to a previous checkpoint to undo this mess or is there a way to fix
it?

Thanks
