Periodically, (approx once or twice a day) for no
apparent reason at all, I lose contact with my
network (wired in my home with a cable modem and
router in the basement, and a hub connecting three
computers upstairs).
No internet, can't connect to the other two
computers, no newsgroups, no Outlook connection,
no FTP.
This does not affect the other two computers
....they contune to function flawlessly after I
have dropped out.
BUT...from my command prompt, all pings work (to
my router, to a 4-number domain, and to a domain
name). So it appears the issue is my software on
my machine, not the network.
I am unable to associate it with some other
program that is running at the time.
Started a couple of weeks ago. I'm completely
baffled.
