Dial Up Connection problem

While attempting to connect to the internet via a dial up
connection I am unable to disable the dial tone. The
connection keeps failing because it doesn't detect a dial
tone. The connection I am making is on an internal phone
line that has no dial tone. I am in a hotel in Germany and
must be able to disable the wait for dial tone. I can do
thisin dialing properties on Windows ME or 2000 but can
not find out how to do it in XP. Please send reponse to

Heres the answer.
Just commands for brevity.
Click Start.
Control panel.
Phones and modem options.
modems tab.
Select your modem.
click properties.
modem tab.
check the box here;
wait for dial tone befor dialing.
