Default Computer names not working over network

I just came home from college, and i noticed my computers
no longer respond to their designated computer names. I now
have to use each computers IP to use remote desktop or file
shareing.
I think somehow my computers still think they are on the
college network, which probably had a DNS server and
separate DHCP server, where as my network is run on a
linksys router.
I tried Enabling NetBIOS over TCP/IP for the computers, but
that didn't fix it.
Any idea what could be causing this? I never experienced
this problem until i came back from school the first time,
so i know my router isn't to blame.
