Default Cannont network - Incorrect node type

Repeating previous post because of destroyed link...

I am unable to network a computer and have previously experienced this same
problem on this machine. The response to my previous post
(http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...hreadm=c32001c
408d8%2475705230%24a301280a%40phx.gbl&rnum=10&prev =/groups%3Fq%3Daustinpctec
h%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26selm%3Dc32001c408d8%25247570
5230%2524a301280a%2540phx.gbl%26rnum%3D10) fixed the problem the first time
but does not this time. Again I find that the DhcpNodeType key at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Netbt\Parameters is
there but the NodeType key is not. I deleted the DhcpNodeType key however
unlike the first time it does not fix my networking problem. Before
deleting the DhcpNodeType key, the node type was listed as Peer to Peer. As
you can see now, it shows as unknown.

I can access the Internet and can ping to the troubled computer from
another, but cannot ping from the troubled computer to another on the
network. I can ping yahoo.com.

I'm wondering two things: First what is the remaining problem this time and
second, what keeps causing this to occurr. Any ideas?
