I recently noticed that when attempting to access the
network setup wizard, it trys to load but nothing
happens. I need to get the 1394 connection to appare in
network connections, as it does not for some reason. All
that there is are two icons under LAN or High-Speed
Internet, labaned Wireless Network Connection and Local
Area Connection... what can I do?

I don't know why the Wizard won't run, but I don't think that it has
anything do with making the 1394 connection appear.
Make sure that the 1394 adapter is enabled in the computer's BIOS
setup program and in Windows XP's Device Manager. If it is, Windows
XP should automatically create a connection for it in the Network
Connections folder.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if they are related. I think the Network
Setup Wizard fails to run if the network connections enumeration fails.
Any other discrepencies between the device manager and connections folder?
