Default can no longer use usb broadband modem to connect to internet on la

hi,

I was trying to network my two computers, but somehow managed to make a 2nd and 2rd network group on my laptop. I have the 1394 connection disabled and have all sorts of messages about bridging networks, but cannot connect to any 'wireless' networks, which was my original intention.

Coupled with this, although I can launch my USb broadband modem, I cannot connect to the internet at all on the laptop. No matter what I do, including reseting all netwok connections and uninstalling the installed 'home networks' that I didn't really want to install initially, I cannot connect to anything using the modem, even though it is definately working (2 green lights).

Does anybody know how to resolve this issue without reinstalling windows. I have tried uninstalling elements of the networks, but cannot permanently remove network connections 2 and 3, which seems to be when I started having this problem initially. As you can gather, I know pretty much nothing about networks.

Thanks
