Default Ad-hoc peer-to-peer keeps disconnecting

I have a 2 computer peer-to-peer wireless network - on pc connected to
broadband with internet connection sharing enabled, connecting to a
wireless laptop.

It all works fine (internet, file sharing etc.) but the internet keeps
dropping off the laptop (indicated by MSN Messenger dropping).

If I set up an infinite ping to the gateway (192.168.0.1) the situation
is better, but it still drops now and again.

Authentication is not set on the 802 thing.

Pc is Windows ME, laptop is Tablet Edition XP

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Colin
